Procurement logistics at the Intec/Z 2019

Mara Hofacker,

Efficient C-parts management

At Intec 2019, Otto Roth will be showcasing solutions for efficient C-Parts management, such as a particularly fast container-independent ordering system based on detachable labels and mobile scanners. The company also supplies individual and high-quality drawing parts on request as part of various Kanban models - carefully packaged and therefore safe from damage.

Otto Roth's product portfolio comprises more than 100,000 different items - including screws and accessories, fittings, flanges and dowels, as well as wooden connectors and tools. This has made the retailer a competent partner across all sectors of industry and trade for many years. Otto Roth's strengths also include comprehensive C-parts management, which improves procurement processes and is tailored to individual requirements.

Otto Roth will also be presenting its new Kanban concept at Intec. This is based on removable labels that are not permanently attached to the load carrier. The neutral containers are filled, labeled and delivered by Otto Roth. Once the parts have been used up, the user scans the label with the Otto Roth Kanban smartphone and immediately transmits a new order. This is made available immediately and the empty containers are removed at a later date. Compared to traditional Kanban, customers save a lot of time and are even more flexible when demand fluctuates. Order quantities can be easily changed at any time with the Otto Roth Kanban smartphone and adapted to current requirements.

At Otto Roth, the supply of C-parts is not limited to the extensive standard range, but also includes individual drawing parts. The specialist checks submitted drawings for their technical and economic feasibility and selects the optimum production technology together with the customer. On request, the company can take over the complete procurement of parts, including supplier selection, warehousing and transportation directly to the customer's plant. If required, Otto Roth can also supply all special parts and even sensitive and complex drawing parts as part of a Kanban model: special, careful packaging reliably protects the sensitive components during transportation so that they arrive at the customer undamaged and ready for use.

The company also operates its own production site. There, experienced and competent employees use modern machinery to produce high-precision rotationally symmetrical turned parts for various industries. If required, the individual parts are assembled into complete, multi-part assemblies in the company's own assembly department.
