AP&T has developed a new generation of the Moving Bolster press table for fast and safe die changes. This press table is designed for dies weighing up to 30 tons and is available for all new presses manufactured by AP&T.
A moving press table generally offers more options than conventional clamping plates. The Moving Bolster can be moved in and out of the press in any direction and can therefore be adapted to the requirements of the respective production hall. This means that changeovers can be carried out quickly. The drive is electric, ensuring reliable and precise control. The user can carry out the entire die change with a few simple keystrokes.
Safety was also an important factor for the manufacturer of the moving press table: to reduce the risks for operators, the Moving Bolster is equipped with an optical scanner that continuously detects what is happening in front of the press table and communicates with the control system. The scanner can be programmed to divide the area in the direction of movement into an outer and an inner safety zone. If people or objects are detected in the outer zone, the speed is automatically reduced; if the same thing happens in the inner zone, the Moving Bolster stops completely. pb
