Piping systems
From fifteen to five
A Combi-WR4 multidirectional reach truck is in use at Sanha, a manufacturer of piping systems for heating, sanitary and air-conditioning technology.
The forklift replaces a combination of manual work and a front loader for the in-house transport and storage of six-metre-long pipe bundles in the racking systems. The pipe bundles are now handled more efficiently, faster and more gently for the employees. With the front forklift, it was comparatively laborious to maneuver the long goods in the narrow spaces around the racks, and workers had to transfer the pipes from the forklift to a roller board. The new Combi-WR4 is maneuverable and narrow; whereas it previously took 15 minutes to load a bundle of pipes from the truck into the rack, it now only takes five minutes. The electronic control system and sensitive controls simplify operation of the Combi-WR4. Due to the ceiling height of just three meters at Sanha, the manufacturer Combilift has equipped the truck with a special mast with a lift cut-off from 2.90 meters. As with the other Combilift tiller models, the Combi-WR4 is also equipped with the patented multi-position tiller head, which turns the rear wheel parallel to the frame at the touch of a button. This allows the operator to stand to the side of the device and have a full view of the load, the forks and the working environment. This position also avoids the risk of crushing when working in narrow aisles. pb
