Heavy plate goods
Picking with vacuum on the platform
In order to pick heavy and bulky panel goods without causing damage, picking systems must be tailored to the individual requirements in the warehouse. With the platform solutions in the EZK series from Hubtex, all areas of application can be covered, from manual to fully automated picking.
In its basic version, the platform solution from Hubtex is suitable for picking wooden and plastic panels on both sides of a rack aisle. Two operators stand on the platform and pick the boards by hand. In this case, the materials are stored using multidirectional sideloaders. In the next stage of development, the special vehicle manufacturer will equip the vehicles with optional telescopic tables, which enable entire packages to be stored in the racking system and transferred directly to the next production step. This means that no additional forklift is required to unload the goods, which means that the rack aisles can be particularly narrow if necessary.
Vacuum suction technology replaces manual order picking
The vehicle achieves the highest level of automation to date through the use of vacuum suction technology, which completely replaces manual order picking. This means that only a maximum of one operator is required per vehicle, who only controls the storage process and is thus relieved of heavy physical tasks. This variant of order picking is also particularly gentle on the material, as the wooden boards are stored evenly.
The partial automation of the EZK picking platforms blurs the line to fully automated storage and retrieval machines. The assistance systems that can be integrated also contribute to this. Vehicle-bound and laser-based personnel protection systems are already standard in the vehicles of the EZK series. An additional automatic shelf positioning system ensures that the platform navigates the operator to the correct shelf once the storage position has been entered.
Hubtex also integrates the picking platforms into existing logistics processes. Before implementing a platform solution, the manufacturer's material flow experts therefore analyze the logistics in the overall concept of the respective user. In addition to the interfaces to the warehouse management system, potential synergies in the interfaces to other production processes are also examined. as
