Palletizer

Directly from the floor roller

Hirata has added a new model to the AST series of palletizers. It combines the narrow frame of the AST series with the advantages of direct palletizing on classic floor rollers.

With a system width of 900 millimetres in the working area and a system width of 1,100 millimetres in the loading area, this changeover unit requires little floor space. Palletizing directly onto floor rollers means that the internal logistics chain is not interrupted. The worker is only tied to the palletizing system for a short time to change the floor rollers; during this time, the trays continue to be processed without interruption. By providing several tray stacks in the device, the autonomy time can be varied according to customer requirements. The palletizer enables high tray stacks up to around 900 millimetres to be processed. The tray changeover time is four to five seconds. Typical areas of application are workpiece feeding in small parts assembly and the palletizing of workpieces on plastic injection moulding machines and machine tools.

The palletizers feed tray stacks, separate the trays, load or unload them and stack them again. Tray sizes from 400 x 300 to 600 x 400 millimetres up to a stack weight of 140 kilograms can be processed. In conjunction with industrial trucks, the tray changers can be expanded into fully automatic systems. With a Scara robot or a linear axis system, the palletizers are suitable for the assembly of components. pb
