Automated packaging processes
Packaging: On demand or for online
Automated on-demand packaging processes: At Fachpack, Packsize and the Becker Group will be exhibiting a process for the individual packaging of products of very different sizes.
At the beginning of the chain are unpacked items, at the end are parcels of various sizes ready for dispatch. The solution is representative of the joint expertise and flexibility in the development of customer-specific processes. With the X7, Packsize is also presenting a fully automated packaging system for online retail. This enables the fastest throughput with a high level of reliability - yet every single parcel is made to measure.
"Together with our customers, we develop tailor-made solutions for their individual requirements. From highly flexible stand-alone solutions to fully automated lines, we have a broad portfolio for efficient and customized packaging on demand," emphasizes Stefan Amann, Sales Director DACH at Packsize. "The combination of hardware, software and services enables users to pack products of any size - and always in quantities of 1."
Complete process chain at the exhibition
Together with Becker Sondermaschinenbau, Packsize is setting up a complete process at Fachpack. The packaging line creates customized cartons for products of different shapes and sizes. The items arrive at the line unpacked, while ready-to-ship cartons are placed on a pallet ready for collection at the end.
Once the dimensions have been digitally recorded, the M1 on-demand packaging system cuts the continuous corrugated cardboard to the perfect fit for each order. The M1 is the first system of its kind to print logos or barcodes on cartons inline and individually, for example. After the blank has been erected with the help of a semi-automatic folding table, the package is automatically hot-glued and palletized ready for dispatch.
Fully automated packaging line for e-commerce
Against the backdrop of rapidly increasing order numbers in e-commerce, Packsize now also offers a fully automated solution for the special needs of online retailers and shippers. The X7 packaging system is capable of packing up to 1,200 orders per hour in different sizes to the right dimensions. Packsize thus helps e-commerce in terms of productivity and throughput and offers a way to effectively counteract the labor shortage.
Customized parcels not only save packaging and filling material as well as uselessly transported air, they also reduce the required storage and transport volumes. In 2018, Packsize customers created around 300 million parcels worldwide. In doing so, they saved an average of 40 percent in cardboard volume. This corresponds to aCO2 saving of 75,000 tons. This is one of the reasons why Packsize entered On Demand Packaging and the M1 for the Sustainability Awards, which are presented at Fachpack.
Custom-fit packaging not only protects the packaged products effectively, it also gives consumers a more satisfying unpacking experience. In addition to the right hardware and software, Packsize offers comprehensive services with On Demand Packaging. This includes the joint development of a packaging solution tailored to the individual needs of each company. as
