SSI Schaefer celebrates groundbreaking ceremony for "IT Powerhouse"
SSI Schäfer IT Solutions has begun construction of a new office and training center. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 19. Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer, Hannes Tieber, Mayor of the municipality of Peggau, President of the Chamber of Commerce Josef Herk and the CEO of SSI Schäfer IT Solutions GmbH, Franz Bauer-Kieslinger, were present.
During the presentation of the office and training center, the guests were able to see for themselves the modern and creative workplace design of the new building and at the same time gain an insight into the interesting field of intralogistics.
Skills shortage in IT
The topic of IT skills shortages was not neglected either. Franz Bauer-Kieslinger drew attention to the main problem in the IT sector. It is not the area of responsibility - industrial software is one of the most challenging and demanding software systems of all - it is the image that needs to be improved in order to make the attractiveness of the sector visible. "We are not Silicon Valley, but our fields of activity are at least as challenging. After all, we operate in an industry that is subject to sustainable growth. This offers our employees a secure future with numerous international development opportunities," says Bauer-Kieslinger.
At the ground-breaking ceremony, Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer expressed his delight at the company's innovative strength, as this is the key to a bright future. "The modern office and training center that is being built here will secure and create future-oriented jobs in Styria. I am delighted that SSI Schäfer is investing in Styria as a business location and thus strengthening our province's reputation as a land of innovation," said Schützenhöfer, who also thanked all those responsible for this decision at the ceremony.
