New Fronius product family

Battery chargers coordinate with each other

With the Selectiva 4.0 product family, Fronius is launching a new generation of its chargers for traction batteries in intralogistics. They charge energy-efficiently and are also suitable for intelligent networking.

The Selectiva product family includes several models in the power classes 2, 3, 8, 16, 18 and 30 kilowatts. Users can charge traction batteries with output voltages from twelve to 80 volts. According to Fronius, a particular advantage is the high level of flexibility: the devices not only have characteristic curves for all common lead-acid, lead-crystal, CSM and gel batteries, but also charge battery types with different voltages. This simplifies charging processes and helps industrial truck operators to save costs.

"With the new generation of devices, we are responding even better to the needs of our customers - also by addressing important trends such as networking, cost optimization and alternative drives," emphasizes Patrick Gojer, Global Director of Fronius.

These include new product functions such as the Power Charging Option, which improves the fast and intermediate charging of lead batteries. The Cold Logistics Option increases the performance of batteries in cold temperatures by warming them up with an increased amount of energy at the start of the charging process.

The Selectiva 4.0 is equipped with an interface for the Fronius networking solution Charge & Connect. Among other things, this enables charging processes to be displayed transparently and made comparable. Users can easily see where processes can be improved and whether batteries, chargers and charging stations have been optimally selected. Problems and application errors can be rectified at an early stage before they result in expensive follow-up costs.

Avoid power peaks
With Charge & Connect, users have the option of coordinating the charging of the various traction batteries - for example, to avoid power peaks or increase the availability of the fleet. They benefit from lower energy consumption and lowerCO2 emissions and save on operating costs.

Among other things, the Selectiva devices also offer a long service life. Fronius offers a full five-year product warranty. The Selectiva 4.0 also scores highly in terms of sustainability: "Each charging process is optimally tailored to the needs of the battery - this ensures particularly cool and gentle charging. Energy consumption can thus be reduced by up to 30 percent compared to other technologies, andCO2 emissions are also significantly reduced thanks to the economical charging technology," says Patrick Gojer. as
