MiR pallet transport
The new big one for tough tasks
Mobile Industrial Robots launches the MiR500: the new transport robot is bigger, stronger and faster than its predecessors and enables fully automated transportation of pallets and heavy goods.
Thanks to its payload of 500 kilograms and its larger payload area, the MiR500 can automatically pick up, transport and deliver pallets at speeds of up to 7.2 kilometers per hour, among other things. The complete fleet of flexible MiR robots now allows companies of all sizes and in all sectors to optimize the flow of materials along their entire production chain, from the warehouse to the outgoing goods department.
"We developed the MiR500 to meet the needs of our customers in the best possible way. For many of them, automating the internal transportation of heavy goods and pallets is an important concern," explains Thomas Visti, CEO of Mobile Industrial Robots.
The MiR500 is the size of a standard Euro pallet and is ideal for transporting such items autonomously. The specially developed MiR500 Pallet Lift and MiR500 Pallet Rack attachment modules enable stable handling and safe transportation. In this way, the mobile robot relieves employees of heavy physical work in favor of more demanding tasks. "The MiR500 is an extremely robust robot and our most resilient model," Visti continues.
Equipped with sensor systems and safety software, the robot maneuvers confidently in dynamic environments. It avoids obstacles and people and independently finds the fastest route to its destination. At the same time, it meets all the safety standards required for TÜV certification, such as ISO/EN 13489.
The MiR500 can be quickly set up, programmed and operated without any special expert knowledge or previous experience. Add-on modules such as pallet lifter, conveyor belt or robot arm are easy to install and replace. This means that the powerful model can be used for a wide variety of transportation purposes without any complications.
On course for growth
According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the market for mobile robots is growing. "Industrial companies are constantly looking for new ways to optimize their production and strengthen their competitiveness. Internal transportation is the last area to be automated. With our autonomous mobile robots, we meet this need perfectly," states Thomas Visti. MiR tripled its turnover between 2016 and 2017 to ten million euros. The company plans to at least double its turnover in 2018. MiR also expects to increase the number of employees from 65 to around 120.
