Knapp supplies shuttle system to agricultural engineering experts
Agricultural machinery dealer Kramp has equipped two of its distribution centers with a new shuttle system from Knapp. This means that the more than 500,000 products from a large stock can be delivered to customers overnight with as little effort as possible.
In March 2017, Knapp, based in Hart bei Graz (Austria), was awarded the contract for an all-in shuttle solution by the largest agricultural machinery dealer in Europe. Two Kramp distribution centers in Germany and the Netherlands will be equipped with the new OSR Shuttle Evo shuttle system. Eddie Perdok, CEO of Kramp Groep, and Heimo Robosch, Executive Vice President of Knapp, sealed the contract at Kramp's headquarters in Varsseveld, the Netherlands.
Kramp supplies dealers in agriculture, forestry, horticulture and the construction machinery sector with spare parts and services. The company has developed from a one-man operation into the largest agricultural machinery dealer in Europe. Due to the positive business development with promising growth targets for the coming years, Kramp was also faced with a reorganization of logistics. In line with their slogan "It's that easy", the logistics should also work: Simple handling of the more than 500,000 products, which are to be delivered to customers overnight from a large stock with as little effort as possible. To make this vision a reality, Kramp opted for the OSR Shuttle Evo.
Regardless of the distribution channel, all goods are picked using the goods-to-person method. The ergonomically designed workstations from Knapp's Pick-it-Easy series enable intuitive and error-reduced operation. The hall, which is flooded with light thanks to the large glass surfaces, enables continuous operation in daylight. After "one touch" picking, customer orders are immediately prepared for dispatch. as
