Data glasses
Klosterfrau subsidiary picks with Picavi
Another Klosterfrau Healthcare Group site has been equipped with Picavi's pick-by-vision solution. The subsidiary Artesan Pharma in Lüchow, Lower Saxony, ordered ten of the smart glasses.
The new project in Wendland can build on the successful collaboration between the two companies in Berlin. There, the switch to Picavi data glasses for small parts picking resulted in time savings of up to 30 percent.
"Our experience with Picavi so far has been very good. We have been successfully using pick-by-vision technology at our plant in Berlin since 2016. For this reason, we decided in the middle of the year to also use the smart glasses for order picking at our site in Lüchow," says Andreas Paul, Head of Logistics at the Klosterfrau Healthcare Group, explaining the move towards more digital processes at his company's Lower Saxony branch. "The glasses make our workers safer in their work, so they make fewer mistakes and are faster. This in turn means that they can be more involved in other value-adding processes."
Carsten Funke, Chief Sales Officer at Picavi, sees the establishment of a second fleet of smart glasses within Klosterfrau Healthcare as confirmation of the company's work to date: "Our goal remains to equip larger intralogistics warehouses with our solution on a large scale and to provide new locations with the benefits of smart glasses for existing customers. As the technical requirements for the introduction of our product are generally already in place thanks to the cooperation to date, the investment costs are quickly amortized."
Both companies agreed on process adjustments on the IT side for the use of Picavi data glasses in Lüchow. This means that the SAP S/4Hana program can now be used in data warehousing during the rollout of the new picking application for enterprise resource planning. as
