Kito takes over light crane manufacturer

With effect from January 31, 2018, Kito has acquired the Finnish light crane manufacturer Erikkila. From now on, the family-owned company will be managed under the Kito Europe umbrella. The deal expands Kito's range of premium hoists to include complete light crane systems and workstation cranes.

Erikkila manufactures light cranes for industrial use and is represented throughout Europe thanks to its extensive sales and dealer network. By acquiring the crane manufacturing company, Kito aims to expand its European operations and strengthen its business position through Erikkila's distribution network in Europe. The acquisition also expands Kito's product portfolio in cranes and related products.

With more than 100 years of experience, Erikkila manufactures light cranes and has been selling them on the European market for more than 40 years. The modular light crane systems are lightweight, easy to operate and characterized by an exceptionally long service life. In combination with Kito electric chain hoists, which reduce load sway, Kito is able to offer users lifting solutions and create greater distribution opportunities in Europe. Erikkila's extensive steel and aluminum light crane system also enables Kito to respond to the growing demand in the automotive and general industrial sectors. as
