Jungheinrich launches new training program

To counter the shortage of skilled workers, Jungheinrich is reorganizing the technical training of its German sales team. From August 2018, the company will be training 26 young men and women as agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics technicians for the first time.

Roman Martin, Vice President Human Resources Jungheinrich Germany, explains: "Due to our strong growth, it is becoming increasingly important for Jungheinrich to recruit competent young talent. We are looking for young people who are enthusiastic about technology and craftsmanship and at the same time enjoy working with people. Jungheinrich's trucks are technically comparable to those of agricultural and construction machinery manufacturers. This apprenticeship is therefore ideally suited to providing young men and women with the skills they need to work as customer service technicians."

The theoretical content is taught in joint block courses in Warendorf, North Rhine-Westphalia. A separate class will be set up for Jungheinrich trainees at the local Paul-Spiegel vocational college, where the trainees will learn together. The educational partner is Deula Westfalen-Lippe, which runs additional inter-company courses together with the Steinfurt-Warendorf district craftsmen's association.

Interested parties can already apply to Jungheinrich for the 2019 training year. The minimum requirement for recruitment is a secondary school leaving certificate, and good knowledge of mathematics and physics is particularly important. During the three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship, a wide range of tasks await, says Martin: "Repair and maintenance, troubleshooting and fault rectification, testing, adjusting and connecting equipment and systems, as well as the assembly of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components. Apprentices are also offered attractive additional benefits, including a guaranteed job and funding for a class B driving license." as
