Jungheinrich: Major order from Mexico
Seglo Logistics has ordered a total of 118 lithium-ion trucks from Jungheinrich, including 19 reach trucks of the new ETV 216i type. They will be used in a new automotive plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
The Mexican logistics service provider Seglo Logistics, a subsidiary of the Wolfsburg-based Schnellecke Group, has ordered 19 reach trucks of the new ETV 216i type from Jungheinrich. The truck model is the world's first reach truck with a permanently installed lithium-ion battery as standard. The order is part of a large order for a total of 118 lithium-ion trucks from Seglo Logistics to Jungheinrich. In addition to the reach trucks, this includes 42 EFG 430 and EFG 220 counterbalanced trucks, 50 EZS 350 tow tractors and 6 ECE 225 horizontal order pickers.
The Jungheinrich trucks will be used in a new automotive plant near the central Mexican city of San Luis Potosí with a population of 700,000, some 420 kilometers north of Mexico City. According to Jungheinrich, Schnellecke is an international logistics service provider specializing in value-added logistics in the automotive industry. The portfolio ranges from transportation and warehousing, pre-assembly and value-added services to the sequential production of individual parts and modules and container-compatible packaging. The automotive plant in San Luis Potosi is to be equipped as an innovation lighthouse in which the latest available technologies will be used.
When developing the ETV 216i, Jungheinrich took advantage of the space-saving and powerful lithium-ion technology. As a result, the latest generation reach truck has improved ergonomics. It offers the driver more freedom of movement and greater all-round visibility. The result is particularly user-friendly operation and a significant increase in safety in the warehouse.
