Fipa handling solution
Ikea stacks parcels and bags at the touch of a button
Ergonomic workstations relieve the strain on staff and increase productivity in order picking. Ikea Components in Slovakia has also recognized this and improved working conditions with handling solutions from Fipa.
At IKEA Components in Malacky, north of Bratislava/Slovakia, parcels and plastic bags weighing up to 35 kilograms are restacked from pallets onto other pallets. The work used to be very strenuous for the staff. The company was therefore looking for an ergonomic solution that could be used flexibly and enable higher productivity in internal logistics. Fipa and local partner O.P.O. came up with a convincing handling solution for five workstations.
Complete solution with Fipalift Smart
For each workstation, the solution comprises a slewing jib crane, a Fipalift Smart tube lifter with all accessories and three different systems for flexible adaptation to the handling task. The ergonomic Fipalift Smart tube lifter with a lifting capacity of up to 65 kilograms is optimized for internal logistics processes. Equipped with a Varioflex bellows suction cup with a diameter of 160 millimetres, the tube lifter is the ideal solution for moving and picking parcels and boxes. The suction cup with two hardness ranges, 30° Shore A on the sealing lip and 60° Shore A on the bellows body, is designed to ensure safe handling even on slightly uneven surfaces thanks to the soft and supple sealing lip.
The lifting device with the load can be conveniently rotated 360 degrees for precise setting down. The Fipalift picks up or sets down the load at the touch of a button. Thanks to the flexible interchangeable system, the lifting device can be quickly adapted to the respective handling task.
With the suction spider, a traverse and four bellows suction cups with a diameter of 75 millimetres, boxes can be easily moved. The Fipalift extension with oval suction tray and sealing foam, which can be changed easily and even without tools, is suitable for handling bags or other shrink-wrapped goods.
In the face of increasingly complex challenges, automation and interfaces must be trimmed for maximum performance, especially in the warehouse. The system runs around the clock, seven days a week. Thanks to the short changeover times, staff can react quickly to different picking tasks. as
