Head scraper with torsion spring

Fits into any conveyor system

With the EZP1T, Flexco has further developed its EZP1 head scraper. Instead of a tension spring, a torsion spring is installed in the new series. This means it takes up less space than the standard version. The operator benefits from faster and simpler installation.

For operators of conveyor belt systems, adhering material - the so-called carryback - represents a cost factor that should not be underestimated because it is lost as a result. Depending on the ambient temperature, this residue can be moist, sticky, dry, acidic or abrasive. Head scrapers, which are mounted on the drum, remove a large proportion of this.

However, their installation often presents the operator with challenges. Specialist personnel are required, and the dimensions of the components do not always fit into the supporting structure of the conveyor belt system. Flexco has therefore further developed its tried-and-tested EZP1 and launched the EZP1T series onto the market. While the standard version is fitted with a tension spring, the new version has a torsion spring - as indicated by the "T". This means that the complete wiper requires significantly less space during installation.

Just like the standard version with tension spring, the EZP1T is also suitable for cleaning belts with mechanical fasteners. When these pass the scraper blade, it quickly rotates away from the belt before the splice and back towards it immediately afterwards due to the torsional force - without damaging the belt. The process is only minimally interrupted. To increase the cleaning performance of reversible conveyor belts, the head scraper can be mounted on both return pulleys. The EZP1T is available for belt widths of 300 to 1,800 millimetres.

The right scraper blade
Depending on the application, Flexco offers polyurethane scraper blades in four different versions - and different colors. Purple, for example, is the version for normal use, i.e. a maximum belt speed of 3.5 meters per second and a temperature range of minus 35 to plus 82 degrees Celsius. For applications in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, Flexco has a white, chemical-resistant scraper blade in its range. All components of the material mix meet the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for repeated use with dry foodstuffs. Various components of the scraper are made of stainless steel for corrosive environments.

Because extreme temperatures can often prevail underground - not only in the minus range - Flexco offers high-temperature scraper blades with the bright yellow version, which allow continuous operation up to 135 and peak operation up to 163 degrees Celsius. The deep red ultra-high temperature components go one better - they even work reliably up to 230 degrees. The scraper blades are characterized by their high durability in all applications. This means that operators have to change them less frequently than comparable competitor products - which has a significant impact on downtimes and material costs. as
