Belt clamp simplifies maintenance work
Exciting safety on the conveyor belt
Flexco has developed a new belt clamp that is suitable for various belt materials and types. With the TUG HD, the employee can either tension or pull the belt and thus hold it firmly in place.
If, for example, a conveyor belt is at a standstill for maintenance work in coal mining, it may be unevenly tensioned due to its own weight. In order for the service technician to be able to cut the belt safely and splice it stably, the force should be distributed evenly across the entire belt width at the point to be treated. Flexco has developed the TUG HD belt clamp for this purpose. It is suitable for various belt materials and types - and meets the high safety standards of the industry.
With the TUG HD belt clamp from Flexco, the employee can either tension or pull the belt and thus secure it firmly. This makes maintenance work easier and safer. To do this, the operator simply inserts the aluminum clamping bar into the ends of the belt clamp. A trapezoidal thread is used to tighten it and it can be slowly loosened again after the repair. The TUG HD achieves a high force that is evenly distributed across the entire width. The aluminum beam is equipped with an anti-slip profile to prevent hazards. The safety factors of the clamping values meet or exceed industry standards. This has been independently tested, according to the company.
The belt clamps can be used in a variety of ways - for example for PVC conveyor belts or PVG fabric conveyor belts. Operators can use them on systems with flat, sidewall, chevron or belts with special profiles. The series is available in two versions: With a clamping force of six tons, it is suitable for conveyor belt widths of up to 1,800 and thicknesses of up to 50 millimetres. The eight-ton version is designed for a width of up to 2,400 and a thickness of up to 55 millimetres. The TUG HD can be used as a double clamp on two belt sections. as
