Autonomous transporter

Insystems Automation has improved the Stacklifter. The AGV Proant, an autonomously navigating automated guided vehicle (AGV), can now pick up floor rollers measuring 600 by 400 millimetres up to a total weight of 100 kilograms from the floor in addition to individual or stacked containers.

The manufacturer has reduced the time required to pick up loads and made the picking up and depositing of loads more precise. To this end, Insystems has developed a new recognition algorithm that allows the vehicle to detect and control crates or pallets in the vicinity more precisely. The AGV is suitable for the internal material flow of small components, bulk goods or for feeding components during assembly processes and does not require transfer stations or conveyor belts. The vehicle can be integrated into any production system once it has scanned and "learned" its environment.

The transport robot can be used as a further development to floor rollers, trolleys or underride AGVs in warehouses and production halls. It is worth mentioning that only one drive is required per vehicle side to generate the lateral infeed movement and the vertical lift. A special mechanism also ensures that the load is clamped from both sides and thus secured against unintentional slipping. pb
