In addition to the trade fair, numerous experts will also highlight individual aspects of the digital transformation in industrial maintenance in presentations on the stages of the "ScienceCenter" and the "SolutionCenter". Guided tours on current topics will also take place on both days.

One of the main topics of the lecture programme is artificial intelligence and digitalization. Research experts will explain, among other things, what impact intelligent data analysis will have on maintenance practice and what new business areas and services can be created through AI-supported services.

Under the title "Cooperation and Collaboration", the speakers at the leading trade fair for industrial maintenance will present new concepts such as the digital twin and the digital life cycle file. The use of blockchain technology in maintenance will also be discussed.

New tasks for employees in maintenance

In spare parts management, digitalization enables the optimization of parts inventories and thus machine availability. The use of digital technologies means that maintenance personnel in a smart factory are taking on new tasks. In some cases, completely new areas of expertise are emerging and the tasks for maintenance staff are becoming more demanding. This development will also be examined in more detail in the ScienceCenter.

In the SolutionCenter, where exhibitors will report on current trends and provide an outlook for the future, visitors can look forward to practical presentations on topics such as condition monitoring and mobile devices as predictive maintenance tools.

The third component of the supporting programme is the guided tours of the trade fair, which are organized and conducted by the Competence Center Maintenance of the FIR e.V. at RWTH Aachen University. This year, the FIR is offering guided tours on two topics: "Data analytics in maintenance - generating added value from data" and "Mobile assistance systems for maintenance - from smartphones to data glasses".

Anyone who enters the voucher code 2514 when registering online for a visit to maintenance Dortmund will receive a free ticket.
