Cloud-based spindle monitoring
Weiss Spindeltechnologie has developed the Spindle Monitor, a software tool that can be activated as an optional addition to the Siemens Mindsphere application "Manage MyMachines".
The tool is a further development of the SMI 24 spindle sensor module, which can be used to record various operating parameters. With the spindle monitor, the spindle automatically transfers all operating and progress data in encrypted form to the MindSphere from Siemens every minute. The recorded data can be used to make statements about service life. One example: based on speed and torque profiles, conclusions can be drawn about the remaining service life of grease-lubricated roller bearings and maintenance measures can be initiated.
