Spring-applied brake

For a quick stop

Nexen presents the I-300 spring-applied brake. The holding brake designed for rotary tables and positioning systems is backlash-free and has a high holding torque. In the event of a power failure, the model applies automatically and is therefore also suitable as an emergency holding brake.

The I-300 has an inertia of 8,341,193 Newton meters per wheel. The patented spring-loaded element is activated by spring force and released pneumatically at a pressure of 4.1 bar. It holds the shaft without play and without load reversal. The response time is only 85 milliseconds. The high torque and short response time guarantee a short braking distance and precise stopping.

For easy installation, the I-300 has a friction-locked shaft bushing; it can be mounted horizontally or vertically, whereby it can be plugged directly onto the bearing-mounted shaft or connected to the machine frame on a flange. When flange-mounted, it has protection class IP67. By stacking several brakes, a doubled holding force or redundant design can be achieved. pb
