Spindle cantilever
Smaller spindle pitch makes you strong
Afag introduces the stronger SA axes of the FL series. Handling specialist Afag is expanding its range of proven spindle cantilevers (SA) with the stronger modules of the FL series. With the same module geometry, the new components are significantly more powerful than the standard cantilevers from the Afag handling kit. This is made possible by a smaller spindle pitch.
The SA spindle extension arms have been a proven component in Afag's product range for years. However, they reach their limits during joining operations or press-fit processes with higher force requirements. Especially for such cases, the handling specialist has expanded its range to include the SA spindle extension arms of the "Force Line" (FL) series, which are significantly stronger than the standard components with the same module geometry. This is achieved by a smaller spindle pitch (between four and ten millimetres), which gives the FL cantilevers more force. Peak forces of up to 600 newtons and the handling of payloads weighing up to 16 kilograms are possible. This gives the user more options and flexibility in the design of the axles to suit the respective application.
The FL cantilevers are available for spindle diameters of eight, ten and twelve millimetres, with variable stroke lengths of 50 to 300 millimetres. The components of the FL series enable the user to perform powerful and remarkably precise infeed movements with a repeat accuracy of plus/minus 0.01 millimeters. They can also be combined with the new KE-200 and KE-1000 force measuring units. These can be attached to the spindle axes without an intermediate plate and enable reliable force control and high accuracy, even with changing loads during the cycle. pb
Afag has been developing and producing components and systems for assembly automation in the areas of feeding, handling and transportation for more than 60 years. A good 300 employees work at the subsidiaries in Switzerland, Germany, China and the USA. Solutions are created there that are used in all manufacturing sectors - from automotive, consumer goods, food, machinery, medicine, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics to the watchmaking industry.
