The latest generation of compressed air cylinders
Space saved
Up to two thirds shorter and more than half lighter - these are the key data of the new JCM air cylinders from SMC Germany.
The development of a new signal transmitter assembly line not only reduces the overall length and weight, but also the installation height by eight millimetres. This compactness is particularly advantageous in cramped installation situations and when used on moving axes: the lower moment of inertia of the compressed air cylinders saves energy, while also allowing longer cycle times and protecting the bearings and material of the moving parts.
The JCM air cylinders are equipped with elastic damping as standard and are equipped for higher process cycles. They are suitable for all areas of application in mechanical engineering and robotics, especially when flexibility and lightweight construction play a role. The range includes four piston diameters of 20, 25, 32 and 40 millimetres. From the smallest standard stroke of 25 millimetres in 25 millimetre increments - from 150 millimetres in 50 millimetre increments - up to the maximum stroke of 300 millimetres.
Thanks to a selection of housing designs, users can choose the right solution for specific installation situations: There are variants with internal threads on the piston rod bellows and at both ends, as well as with external threads on the cylinder head or at both ends. This enables direct mounting on the piston rod side or cover side. The piston rod end is optionally available with an internal or external thread. pb
