Rexroth expands online calculation tool
The Linear Motion Designer has been used to calculate Rexroth linear technology components since 2008. In its latest version, the software tool also supports the design of ball bushing guides.
Bosch Rexroth announced that the update of the Linear Motion Designer with new features provides more application options and an application-oriented design process for linear guideways, screw drives and now also for ball bushing guides.
New selection aids and functions
Thanks to the selection aids, the user should be guided through the dimensioning of components in a more targeted manner and find the right solution more quickly. This also includes the selection aid for carriages: once the user has entered all the data relevant to the calculation, they can specify the future area of use more precisely using application criteria such as industry and application. Based on this information, a preferred carriage is offered, which can then be used directly for the design.
Furthermore, predefined motion profiles help to speed up the input of the dynamic cycle. Users only have to define the stroke and time and receive results that are precisely tailored to their requirements.
The Linear Motion Designer is also designed to help prevent errors by only displaying carriages that mathematically meet these conditions when entering the required service life or mileage. Also new: users can display the respective lubrication intervals and lubrication quantities for selected linear guideways and screw drives.
Seamless connection to the configurator
The configuration of screw drives has also been optimized, as the appropriate end bearing, in addition to the nut and spindle, can now be selected directly via the Linear Motion Designer during dimensioning. This means that a product catalog is no longer necessary when switching to the configurator. The user can access the complete screw drive unit even faster.
The latest version of Linear Motion Designer also has a revised calculation guide with basic information on linear technology and an automatic update function that keeps the tool up to date. as
