Robust for industrial mechanical engineering

Precision automation in mechanical engineering requires accurate positioning systems that are also robust and durable. Typical examples include laser processing, 3D printing and optical inspection.

Physik Instrumente (PI) offers the robust V-412 and V-417 linear stages for such applications. Special covers and side seals prevent dirt or hot particles from entering the drive; purge air connections are also available, which can be used in combination with the cover to generate overpressure inside the housing. Industrial connectors with a high IP protection rating and bayonet catches provide additional robustness.

With widths of 116 and 166 millimetres, the maximum load capacity is 400 or 450 newtons, while the travel of the series starts at 52 millimetres and extends up to 813 millimetres. The linear tables position with an accuracy of a few micrometers and offer speeds of up to two meters per second, which enables high throughput rates. They can be combined for multi-axis applications. The new linear tables use three-phase magnetic direct drives. as
