Even more productive

Gripping, lifting, positioning, setting down: The basic work process in pick-and-place applications is always the same. However, the requirements that plant manufacturers and their customers place on drives and grippers are different.

The handling gantries can be freely assembled according to a modular principle and meet demanding requirements in assembly automation, measurement and testing applications or in the laboratory, for example. © SMC Germany

With a freely configurable modular system for handling gantries from SMC, for example, the user has a solution for various individual applications. SMC develops a selection of electric drives and connecting elements for customized handling gantries that only need to be assembled on site at the user's premises - regardless of whether they are line, area or room gantries. Various electric drive types are available based on 24-volt DC stepper motor technology with actual position detection.

The electric cylinders with guide rod from the Leyg series, which can be supplied with parallel or axial motors depending on the available installation space, are particularly suitable for pushing applications. The carriage drives from the LEFS and LEFB series, which are driven by ball screws or belts, are used for picking up and moving parts. pb
