Oil and nitrogen are used as the filling medium, with the oil complying with FDA regulation 21 CFR 178.3570 (lubricants with incidental food contact). This means that these elements can also be used in food processing areas. They are maintenance-free over their entire service life and are suitable for operating temperatures from minus 20 to plus 80 degrees Celsius. The gas struts are available as standard with a piston rod diameter of six to 14 millimetres and with strokes of 40 to 400 millimetres. A connection thread is fitted on both sides to accommodate various connection parts. The large number of available stainless steel connection and fitting parts simplify installation and make the gas struts universally applicable.

The manufacturer fills the elements with the individually required gas pressure at the customer's request. If necessary, the extension forces can be subsequently reduced using the integrated filling valve. Gas struts can move and brake masses in a controlled manner without great effort. They can be used, for example, to conveniently open, close and adjust lids, flaps or hoods. They are used in mechanical engineering, in the furniture industry and in sports, leisure and household appliances. pb
