For a stop in an emergency
ACE adds viscoelastic shock absorbers to its portfolio for the first time and expands its range of safety products.
The company thus offers designers and users in heavy industry, such as in crane construction and steelworks, but also in rail transport, on locks or wind turbines, solutions for emergency stop applications. With 0.1 kilojoules/stroke to 1,000 kilojoules/stroke, the shock absorbers have a wide range of energy absorption. Despite the enormous energies, they manage with comparatively small strokes of twelve to 1,300 millimetres.
The new products are designed according to the principle of hydrostatic compression of elastomers and thus combine the functions of a shock absorber with those of a return spring. In addition to their compactness, ACE cites their reliable damping properties over many years, high damping coefficients and resistance to temperature fluctuations as advantages. as
