Bellows
Aprons for the factory
Bellows for machine protection. Hema in Seligenstadt offers bellows and link aprons to protect machine operators - and the machines themselves.
The company in Seligenstadt manufactures protective devices in various designs; bellows from the Elastic and Samurai series are primarily used in machine tools. The Elastic series protects machines against contamination from chips and can be combined in various ways. The basic components of these bellows as well as their material, shape, processing method and dimensions are individually tailored to each application.
Hema manufactures the bellows on the basis of a PVC frame in each fold; PP, Nomex or PA are also used as alternatives. The cover material consists of various high-quality special fabrics such as Preotex, Teflon or polyurethane, as they are resistant to coolants and lubricants and robust against flying metal chips. There are special versions of Elastic bellows for high-speed applications, which are also available as a complete system with a bellows integrated into the rear wall of the machine, complete with guide and fastening.
In the production of bellows, Hema uses various processes that are tailored to the environmental conditions at the place of use of the cover: For applications that require maximum material strength, thermally bonded bellows are best suited. The high-frequency welding process is used for large louver-shaped bellows. For systems with high temperatures, sewn covers are the best choice. However, in applications where hot, sharp-edged chips are flying around, pure Elastic bellows do not offer sufficient protection; Hema has developed the Samurai series especially for this requirement. These covers are based on Elastic bellows, which are reinforced with fixed or movable stainless steel slats. These bellows are predestined for use in HSC applications and have already been integrated into machining centers with speeds of more than 100 meters per second with an acceleration of two grams.
In addition to link aprons and bellows, Hema also has LED lighting systems, machine safety screens, rear panels and the translucent X-Velo roof cover in its range for retrofitting used machines; the latter ensures cleanliness in the production hall without darkening the machine's processing area. pb
