"OT meets IT" - the series

On October 16 and 17, we at SCOPE invite you to the first two events in the "OT meets IT" series in Darmstadt. The series will start with the event "Networking and Communication" on October 16 and will continue on October 17 with "Cybersecurity".

Each of the events consists of four presentations and a subsequent workshop on the topic. Of course, you can register for each of the events independently.

Networking and communication

Automation only works if all the components involved - sensors, controllers, databases or input devices - can communicate with each other. This requires high-performance network technology and corresponding protocols. What determines the performance of a network infrastructure? Which protocols are best suited for what? When do you actually need real-time data transmission and what are the requirements for this? We will address these questions in the "Networking and Communication" event. The workshop will focus on the performance requirements of network infrastructure components in Ethernet-based automation networks.

Cybersecurity

The increasing networking of countless different devices inevitably offers gateways for criminals, but also harbors the risk of unintentional data leaks. Whether the risk is data loss or theft, industrial espionage or the manipulation of hardware and, in the worst case, entire systems - IT security to protect data and OT is a very critical factor in every company. Our "Cybersecurity" event provides an overview of the biggest risks, effective protective and defensive measures and practical examples. The workshop uses real cases to show how quickly a system can be infected and what measures can be taken to prevent most attacks.
