IoT data platform simplifies energy management
The 7KN powercenter3000 IoT data platform from Siemens will be available from June 2019. The data platform simplifies energy management for companies thanks to the permanently accessible overview.
The cloud-based IoT data platform 7KN powercenter3000 from Siemens is a digitalization solution for electrical power distribution in industry, infrastructure and buildings. This data sector collects energy and system data from up to 40 connected measuring and protection devices and transmits it to local energy management systems or directly to open, cloud-based IoT operating systems such as MindSphere. The data bundled as a package is further processed, visualized and evaluated. This is done via an integrated web interface, the energy monitoring software powermanager or special cloud applications. With the 7KN powercenter 3000, small and medium-sized companies can also benefit from the fast, flexible and cost-effective entry into cloud-based energy management.
Existing energy monitoring systems can be expanded to include a cloud connection at any time. The IoT data platform will be available from June 2019. The communication-capable Sentron measuring and protection devices record electrical values such as current, voltage and energy down to consumer level and forward this data to higher-level systems via standard protocols such as Profinet, Profibus and Modbus. They also meet the requirements of energy audits and operational energy management in accordance with ISO 50001 and ISO 50003. Comprehensive analyses, even across multiple locations, are possible at any time via corresponding cloud applications. Energy distribution can be controlled remotely and preventive maintenance can be carried out. In addition, warning messages quickly draw attention to faults.
