Tool for workshop control
Innovations in software solution for order planning
At the EMO metalworking trade fair (September 16 to 21 in Hanover), HSi GmbH will be providing information on software solutions for order planning and workshop control as well as plan time determination and preliminary costing.
HSauftrag provides the user with an easy-to-use system for scheduling and controlling orders and optimizing capacity utilization. This takes into account the transition times between workstations. Each workstation is assigned a planned capacity via operating calendars and shift models. To reduce set-up and throughput times, identical items from different orders can be combined into production batches. The transfer of parts lists, work sequences from quotations or work plans for existing items offers significant time savings.
The main new features of the HSauftrag software solution concern the automatic rescheduling of all dispatched orders following changes to deadlines. This rescheduling takes place in accordance with the priorities of the production orders. The respective priority is suggested by the system, taking into account the target date. Unrealized work steps are also rescheduled taking into account the current capacity. As part of the further development of these scheduling functions, automatic rescheduling is now also available, which enables continuous rescheduling, for example in a night run. Furthermore, the work processes can still be confirmed in the traditional way using a barcode scanner or paperless, e.g. via a monitor or tablet, at the workstation. A "paperless confirmation" is used to call up an employee or workstation-related sequence view of the production orders to be processed. This view can be used to log the operations on and off directly.
Other new features include the fact that the calculation of the start date of subsequent operations when logging off an operation can now be controlled via the following settings: Should the subsequent operation be rescheduled or not. In addition, when logging off an operation, the start date of subsequent operations can be calculated according to the criteria of limited or unlimited capacity. Another new feature is the addition of BOM items to production orders. The BOM items are displayed on the "Routing card" report. This means that all order-related parts list information is available to the worker online.
Further optimizations were incorporated into the HSauftrag software solution. These include the expansion of the existing backward scheduling algorithm to include planning against limited capacities. If a date is in the past after a manual rescheduling of production orders, the planner receives a corresponding message. Automatic forward scheduling can be activated while retaining the planning type. Manual rescheduling for backward scheduling of orders already in production is also possible.
The mapping of capacity utilization and availability is not limited to the processing machines, but also includes the availability of employees. In this way, the quality of planning and scheduling of orders can be further improved. Planning with regard to specified and thus limited capacities, both forward and backward, achieves better capacity utilization and thus realistic planning.
The situation resulting from capacity and workload is displayed with the HSi software on a daily basis and provides the decision support for rescheduling, outsourcing or changing the shift model. In the event of rescheduling, you can go directly from the capacity loads in the planning board to the orders that caused it and make the corresponding changes. The current status can be called up for every production order, every part and every operation.
The available order costing calculates the exact planned costs including material, production and special direct costs. These pre-calculated times and costs are compared with the actual values in a running calculation or in the post-calculation module. Deviations, such as underruns and overruns, can be identified both for the entire order and for the individual workstation. HSauftrag also has the option of recording and evaluating overhead costs and times, such as transportation and cleaning activities.
