Balluff will be presenting new Industry 4.0 solutions at the Hannover Messe. With a portfolio for machine vision, a wide range of tasks in the areas of object detection, identification and quality assurance can be covered. Sensors perform various tasks and provide digital data via open interfaces. The sensor data is a prerequisite for digitizing the overall system.

With the BMP series, Balluff has a new intelligent displacement sensor for fluid technology applications in its range. The magnetic sensor continuously determines the absolute position of a piston, is compatible with almost all cylinder types and can be quickly installed.

Tool-ID is an example of how Industry 4.0 can be easily introduced into production. Using industrial RFID, it makes the use of tools during processing traceable, ensures their optimal utilization and supports predictive maintenance.

The new optoelectronic mini sensors from the BOS Q08M and BOS R01 series offer reliable object detection in a small space. Their scanning range and hysteresis can be precisely set directly via IO-Link without adjusting the distance between the sensor and object. They also provide additional information such as diagnostic data and operating hours.

Another example is a newly developed optical multifunction sensor. It can be switched via IO-Link to use the detection method depending on the application. The detection signals are prepared and pre-processed in the sensor. On the subject of automation and safety, Balluff is presenting "Safety over IO-Link".
