Presented at the 5th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards, the award recognizes Emerson's analytics software that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve reliability, safety and sustainability while optimizing industrial manufacturers' manufacturing processes.

"While industrial manufacturers generate a tremendous amount of data, in practice, few companies gain the insights needed to optimize their operations," said Stuart Harris, Emerson's Group President for Digital Transformation. "With Plantweb Optics Analytics, we provide manufacturing companies with advanced analytics capabilities that are easy to implement and deliver measurable results quickly. This IoT Breakthrough Award recognizes our industry-leading technology, expertise and focus on creating value for our customers."

Plantweb Optics Analytics is a powerful analytics software for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) that collects and interprets operational data to provide real-time insights into machine and plant health and operational performance. Based on integrated know-how, the software can improve performance at all levels and in all areas of a company - from individual equipment to complex machines, process units and complete production plants. Plantweb Optics is part of Emerson's Plantweb digital ecosystem, which includes breakthrough technologies, software applications and services.

The software uses a combination of data-based models and principle-based analytics to identify, predict and prevent more than 80 percent of the most common equipment failures. The IoT Breakthrough Awards Program serves to recognize innovators, industry leaders and visionaries worldwide in a range of IoT categories that include Industrial IoT, Enterprise IoT, Consumer IoT, Connected Home and more. This year, the program received more than 3,850 nominations from companies around the world.
