Agile Production Simulation
Simulation of a state-of-the-art factory
At the Hannover Messe, Fischertechnik is presenting a factory simulation model - the Agile Production Simulation - which can be used to illustrate the processes of a state-of-the-art factory. The model contains a high-bay warehouse and various processing steps and is equipped with actuators, sensors, AI and a driverless transport system. Felix Witzelmaier, Industrial Sales at Fischertechnik, explains the details in an interview.
Which technologies and processes are simulated with fischertechnik's Agile Production Simulation?
The simulation and training models from fischertechnik offer industry and universities the opportunity to realistically represent complicated technical systems and ensure a perfect simulation so that they can be understood by everyone. Our latest model, the Agile Production Simulation, focuses on the topics of agile production, IoT and AI for quality assurance and automation. We focus in particular on the networking of production and logistics. To translate complex content into sustainable learning effects, we use our digital learning platform including a digital twin of the haptic system.
Where is the system already in use?
The fischertechnik learning factories are used in large industrial companies such as BMW, SAP and IBM. They are also used in research and teaching at universities and colleges around the world.
Who was involved in the development?
Our development partners are the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for the didactic part and OMM solutions GmbH for the software part.
What is the benefit, what was your motivation?
The connections of the flexible and modular fischertechnik system with industry-compatible actuators and sensors as well as the controllers of leading manufacturers open up almost unlimited possibilities for hardware simulation. The simulation and training models from fischertechnik therefore open up flexible possibilities for industry, training and schools to test processes and teach technical basics easily.
Our overarching goal is to make people fit for the future. In short: we promote future skills. Our vision is to take people with us on the path to the production of the future. Our Agile Production Simulation is the perfect tool for training trainees, students and employees to become skilled workers. It creates motivation for further development and at the same time removes obstacles to change.
Can the APS be extended?
If you take a closer look at the Agile Production Simulation, you will notice that one side is still open and freely buildable... we don't want to reveal much more today....
How will the system be delivered and who can I contact if I am interested?
The system is delivered fully assembled so that you can start commissioning and learning immediately. The system has a modular design. This means that each process module is mounted on its own base plate. The individual process modules can be arranged in almost any constellation so that you can configure and simulate your own small miniature factory. If you are interested, you can find out more about our international structure of authorized partners on our homepage.
