Handling systems for higher force ranges
Afag is expanding its portfolio of YZ standard systems with two new handling systems for higher force ranges: the EPS giga YZ and the EPS tera YZ.
Both cantilever systems are suitable for the fast movement of high payloads with a repeat accuracy of up to +/-0.02 mm. Standard weight compensation is available for Z-strokes up to 500 mm.
The EPS giga YZ provides press-in forces of 255 N and moves loads of up to 15 kg. The larger EPS tera YZ offers press-in forces of up to 1,024 N and moves loads of up to 20 kg. According to the company, both systems move quickly. An example: In a 1.5 s pick & place cycle, consisting of six subsequent movements and a gripping time of 2 × 100 ms, the systems move a payload of 10 kg by 100 mm on the Y-axis and 100 mm on the Z-axis.
