Viscoelastic shock absorbers

Suitable for emergency stop

The new VS series from ACE shock absorbers work on the principle of hydrostatic compression of elastomers. This means that the piston is reset by releasing the compressed elastomer.

The viscoelastic shock absorbers that the company presented at this year's Motek have an energy absorption of 0.1 to 1,000 kJ/stroke; the strokes range from 12 to 1,300 mm.

The company has divided its VS series into three families: The VS-BA1 models are suitable as dampers for energies from 0.1 to 14 kJ/stroke, the VS-BA5 models cover the energy range from 25 to 150 kJ/stroke and the VS-BALR and VS-BXLR models are suitable for energies from 6 to 1,000 kJ/stroke.
