Safety light grid for trouble-free operation
Schmersal has presented the SLC/SLG 445 series of safety light grids and safety light curtains, which are also suitable for welding robots, for example, thanks to an integrated multiple scan function.
The protective devices emit infrared light, which is evaluated by a receiver. Multiple scanning evaluates each infrared beam six times in succession within the reaction time. This increases the reaction time from ten to 20 milliseconds. Brief interruptions of individual beams in the protective field, for example due to small particles, chips or glow sparks, do not cause the protective device to switch off.
Thanks to the multi-scan function, the safety light curtain is also suitable for environments with high levels of soiling. The integrated muting function also differentiates between people and material. The SLC/SLG 445 also offers an integrated set-up aid with status display.
