Robotics in industrial production

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Robotics as the key to digitalization

With robotics, Mitsubishi Electric enables versatile networking of its own products. Additional axes from the servo/motion portfolio as well as HMIs for operating and monitoring all states and parameters can be connected without additional interfaces.

The robot controller can also be integrated into the in-house iQ-R PLC platform, which gives the robot controller direct access to all PLC modules. This also enables direct connection to cloud solutions. All components, such as compact controllers and frequency inverters, can be networked with each other via the CC-Link IE Field Basic network, which is integrated as standard.

The new FR robot series offers innovations in particular with Melfa Smart Plus - with automatic camera calibration, extended temperature compensation and synchronization of additional axes for adhesive and sealant application. The option to create and integrate libraries reduces the programming effort. With Melfa SafePlus, additional application-specific safety functions are available.
