Networking event at Schunk: Expert Days on Robotic Material Removal
Expert exchange at the highest level
On October 25 and 26, 2023, Schunk is once again organizing the Expert Days: an annual international and cross-industry event on the topic of "Robotic Material Removal". 70 specialists from Europe and North America will meet in Brackenheim-Hausen to discuss new trends such as AI and best practice examples and to network for future tasks.
The "Schunk Expert Days on Robotic Material Removal" are an international platform event for robot-supported automation solutions for machining processes such as deburring, grinding and polishing. In addition to smaller informal meetings on the fringes of trade fairs, the annual two-day event in Brackenheim-Hausen is the central forum for the emerging specialist network.
Trend topics in real production
For the first time, speakers from the USA and Canada will be taking part in this year's Expert Days: The keynote speech will be given by Glen A. "Fritz" Carlson III, President and CEO of Acme Manufacturing in Michigan, one of the world's leading integrators for robot-based machining. Michael Muldoon, Director of Product Development at Canadian robotics specialist AV&R, will speak on the topic of "Machining aerospace components". Well-known speakers will also be back to provide detailed insights into current projects. One of them is Reinhold Stehle, Technical Sales Manager at SHL, a leading global manufacturer of robotic systems for the automated grinding and polishing of high-quality components.
Focus on practical implementation
The focus will not only be on the tried and tested, but also on the latest trends and their practical implementation. This year, Sabina Kethelz, CCO at Danish automation company Norbo Robotics, will speak about AI-supported planning of robot paths. In addition to exciting presentations, participants can also look forward to a trade exhibition and plenty of opportunities for exchange and networking.
Network for new challenges
A trend towards greater automation can be observed in all major sectors. One important reason for this is the shortage of labor. Increasingly, small and medium-sized companies are also taking more and more steps towards automation solutions. They prefer easy-to-use and flexible systems. This poses new challenges for robotics users, system integrators, component manufacturers and consumables suppliers. Schunk has therefore launched the Expert Days to create an international network for robot-assisted machining. The aim is for experts to exchange ideas, learn from each other and develop new business ideas and projects.
