Major order for Mercedes plant
Robot manufacturer Kuka secured an important contract in the third quarter.
The company was awarded the contract by Mercedes-Benz for the engineering, construction, assembly and commissioning of several body assembly lines. In future, various vehicle models will be produced on these lines.
Of the four packages offered for the main components of a body-in-white production line, Kuka was able to win the customer for all four packages and is now using its comprehensive technological expertise and several hundred Kuka industrial robots for the flexible production strategy at Mercedes.
