The universal and flexible 6-axis GP8L offers high mobility in a small space with a long reach of 1,636 millimeters. The new development with a sufficient payload of 8 kilograms can be used wherever classic industrial robotics manipulators such as the Motoman GP7 or GP12 would be either too short-armed or too bulky.

Extension of the Motoman GP series

As an extension of the Motoman GP portfolio, the new Motoman GP8L offers all the advantages of the proven series: "GP" stands for "General Purpose" and therefore for a wide range of applications, even under harsh working conditions in continuous operation. The robot can work in any installation position without restrictions. The integrated media supply in the axes optimizes the setup of grippers and ensures reliability during operation. Its coordinated and lean kinematic structure, in conjunction with Sigma7 drive technology, enables exceptionally fast cycle times with a high repeat accuracy of +/- 0.02 millimeters.

The Motoman GP8L can be controlled using either the current YRC1000 robot controller or the YRC1000micro compact controller. Either the classic programming pendant or the innovative smart pendant for newcomers to robotics can be used for operating and programming. Or, and this is particularly attractive in logistics automation, the robot can be programmed directly via PLC function blocks according to the YaskawaMotoLogix concept - and thus seamlessly integrated into the PLC programming environment. A robot programmer is then no longer required.
