For the medium load class

Kuka is launching a new range of robots for the medium payload class: the KR Iontec. The new robot follows on from the KR 60-3 and can be installed on the floor, on the wall or in an inclined position.

For installed robots, it is also possible to upgrade the payload from 30 kg to up to 70 kg. According to Kuka, the new KR Iontec has the largest working range in its class with a maximum reach of 3,100 mm. In addition, the working area underneath the robot has been enlarged.

The KR Iontec is equipped with various motion modes. These software add-ons allow the robot to be adapted to different production processes: Performance Mode ensures high performance, dynamics and efficiency as standard; Path Mode enables exact path travel at all speeds as well as high accuracy and precision; Dynamic Mode can be used to minimize cycle times.

The company particularly emphasizes the low maintenance requirements: According to the company, the robot requires fewer spare parts and the oil is changed every 20,000 operating hours on average. In addition, the energy absorption and drive technology have been improved. This has also made it possible to reduce the weight. The Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is specified at around 400,000 operating hours.
