KR Fortec ultra
Five new ones for heavy loads
The robots of the KR Fortec-Ultra family from Kuka work with heavy payloads of 480 to 800 kilograms. The new family consists of five robot variants - each of which is suitable for a specific application.
The KR 800 is suitable for handling loads weighing up to 800 kilograms. The two KR 480 variants have very large reach ranges of up to 3,700 millimetres. In addition, the maximum permissible mass moment of inertia of the KR 640 and KR 560 can be significantly increased again with a high inertia variant for particularly wide grippers.
The robots are the "answer to the changing requirements of the automotive industry with ever larger vehicles, very large components for electric cars or heavy batteries", explains Wolfgang Bildl, Portfolio Manager at Kuka. Another special feature of the new models is the double swing arm. This design ensures a high level of rigidity and precision with a reduced dead weight. This results in higher dynamics, optimum cycle times, lower energy consumption and a lowerCO2 footprint due to the reduced use of materials.
