DGST mini slide saves space

RS Components has added a mini slide for industrial automation applications to its product range. According to the company, this is the most compact solution on the market.

Festo, the automation technology and equipment company, has launched the new DGST mini slide. The slide and yoke plate consist of one component in one component. This ensures very high rigidity as well as excellent precision and angular alignment. The slide also has a designated mounting location for the integration of proximity sensors. This avoids protruding parts after assembly. This compactness means that the device can be used in a range of industrial machines and processes in a very space-saving manner.

Machine builders in industrial or factory automation applications can use the slide in pick and place machines or manufacturing systems and processes that require precise positioning. The simple design is characterized by symmetrical mounting interfaces and a precise and resilient roller bearing guide.

Another important feature of the slide is that it can be used with high feed forces without the need for additional damping components. The DGST mini slide offers a choice of three proprietary damping types: elastic damping at both ends - with (model P) or without (model E1) end position adjustment - or shock absorbers at both ends (model Y12), which are self-adjusting and feature end position adjustment. Other features include a backlash-free piston rod/yoke connection for a longer service life.
