UHF handheld for smartphones

With the PD20, Turck is expanding its RFID product portfolio with a UHF handheld for connection to a smartphone.

Users control the PD20 via the Turck app on their Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. Depending on the RFID data carrier to be read and the environment, the device has a reading range of two meters and more.

The PD20 focuses on smartphone use, says the manufacturer. The customer can use the app to record the data using an inventory or read command and change it on the data carrier using a write command. The user can simply forward the read data from the smartphone by email and make it available to other systems or databases. The connection to the end device is made via the 3.5 millimeter jack socket of the smartphone or using a Lightning adapter for the latest Apple devices. as
