New HMI user interface

The system always in full view

SHL is making its grinding and polishing robots more user-friendly and has developed a new user interface for the human machine interface. Ergonomics took center stage in the design, allowing complex systems to be controlled intuitively.

The heart of the new HMI is the large touchscreen. It graphically displays the entire system layout. When the user touches a specific system component, the HMI displays all machine-specific parameters and settings. All important system buttons are centrally located at the bottom of the screen, and an additional menu bar can be opened at the side. This gives the user an overview of all important data and full control over the entire system.

The new system also includes other practical features: The color and parameter structure can be set up individually for a better overview, and further adjustments are easily possible. Password-protected user administration and an error message memory are just as much a part of the features as an integrated database, which holds all data for operational and machine data acquisition as well as quality assurance. With the HMI's "Pathoptimizer", the user also has the handling of the workpiece under control at all times. The graphic display shows exactly where, what and how the workpiece is being processed.

The SHL-HMI can be used in a variety of ways. The control unit can be connected to any SHL machine and various robot types via Profinet to form a functional unit. The SHL-HMI is also the basis for Industry 4.0 requirements. as
