Test robots for interchange systems

Plug between the doors

Harting has put a test robot for inter-vehicle junction systems into operation. With additional testing options, the company is now expanding its testing expertise in this area and can offer customers from the rail sector a complete solution package.

In future, the Harting Quality and Technology Center (HQT) will be able to test jumper cables under realistic conditions. The entire life cycle can be simulated according to the track profile, allowing the load on the so-called "jumper cable" to be simulated and documented. The solutions for the railroad sector include the Han 1A connector series, which enables high-performance connections for small to medium-sized electrical assemblies in rail vehicles as well as for reliable fast Ethernet. These new interfaces require little space and are easy to install. With protection class IP20, they are designed for the control cabinet, with protection class IP65 they are resistant to water jets, and a variant with contact inserts is suitable for interference-free data transmission (shielding). Railroad standards require connectors to provide interference-free transmission even in environments with heavy loads. The Han 1A is suitable for supplying door drives and boarding systems, for example. pb
