Smart Factory

Automate with all senses

Pilz has once again expanded its Smart Factory, the modular production line, and is demonstrating Industry 4.0 in practical application: Thanks to decentralized control intelligence, mobile service robotics, intelligent diagnostics and visualization as well as cloud connectivity, various products can be manufactured in batch size 1.

Safe sensor technology is the focus of Pilz's trade fair presence at SPS IPC Drives 2018

Safe sensor technology plays a central role here: from classic area and room monitoring and safeguarding of safety doors or human-robot collaborations to new applications such as quality control, diagnostics or machine operation. The PSENopt II light curtains for body protection will be making their debut in Nuremberg. With a protective field height of up to 1,500 millimetres, they are now also suitable for body protection in addition to finger and hand protection. Thanks to a shock resistance of 50 g, PSENopt II are robust against shock, vibration and collision. Ranges of up to 50 meters and simple diagnostics via LEDs also ensure economical monitoring of hazardous areas. The innovations also include the new generation of PMCprimo C2 motion control systems. They offer higher cycle rates and a variety of interfaces and encoder inputs, digital inputs/outputs and a USB interface for data backup for high flexibility. as
