Salt Solutions acquires stake in IoT specialist
The SCM project house Salt Solutions is acquiring a stake in the Berlin start-up M2MGO, a specialist for services and products relating to the Internet of Things (IoT). M2MGO is to become part of the software unit Salt Software, which is to be founded.
Salt Solutions and M2MGO will be presenting together for the first time on December 3 and 4 at the HPE Discover More trade fair in Munich. Exhibitors will be demonstrating how technology, apps and data from the edge to the cloud can make digital transformation a success.
With this investment, Salt Solutions, an expert in the digitalization of the entire supply chain, aims to expand its portfolio with data-driven services and products to support digital business models. These significantly reduce time-to-market costs because they make it possible to quickly turn ideas into new business models. For example, M2MGO users are able to create apps themselves without having to write a single line of code - such as for real-time monitoring of production conditions in the smart factory.
With M2MGO's expertise, Salt Solutions now sees itself in a better position to support companies in their digital transformation. Together, the two companies want to create end-to-end digital processes on a platform that can be implemented on-premise, in a cloud, in a multi-cloud or in any hybrid variant. This creates full transparency in real time, which is a necessary prerequisite for the partial or full automation of the supply chain.
Lothar Gebhard, Head of the Products and Innovation business unit at Salt Solutions, says: "The solutions from M2MGO supplement our existing model, Data for Services (D4S), with important functionalities such as connectors and user interfaces. They can be used on the basis of classic license models through to pay-per-use models." as
